When we delivered the first Dream Classic 6 years ago, we knew what we wanted to accomplish with the event. 6 years later we can reflect on the growth and community impact it has had in our city. T. Will Sports and The Office of Black Student Achievement has collaborated to provide thousands of dollars in scholarships for scholars in Minneapolis Public Schools.
The social impact of this event goes far beyond the basketball court but into contributing to building first generation college students from a city and district that both Mr. Walker and I graduated from. We Bring the community together on a day of service because we know that sports allows us to blur color and social lines on this platform that we created.
Special thanks to the sponsors and business leaders who contributed to the event. We look to expand and work with more sponsors in the coming years!
“The credit belongs to those people who are actually in the arena…who know the great
enthusiasms, the great devotions to a worthy cause; who at best, know the triumph of high achievement; and who, at worst, fail while daring greatly, so that their place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.” ~ unknown
